On May 19, 2015, the witcher Geralt story ended with the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The role-playing game is now celebrating its fifth birthday. Developer CD Projekt celebrates this occasion not only with a sale, but also with one Reissue of the title song by Marcin Przybylowicz – the music director of the game – as well as the Steam release from Gwent.
As the studio said on Twitter, completing Geralt’s adventure was “especially important” for the team. That is why one will “always remember the end of this trilogy”.
Today we celebrate the 5th anniversary of #TheWitcher 3: Wild Hunt release. Concluding Geralt’s adventure was a defining moment for CD PROJEKT RED and it will always remain in our hearts.

This is for The Witcher 3’s birthday
The birthday presents are quickly sold out. For example, CD Projekt Red sold a special poster by Geralt for the festive occasion already sold out is. You can get the Witcher games cheaper on all sales platforms at short notice.
On Steam and GOG are all Witcher parts and spin-offs by May 25 and May 26, 2020, respectively between 50 and 85 percent reduced. In the Epic Games Store you only get Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition 70 percent cheaper, but the offer is valid until June 4.
The success is unbroken
Although The Witcher 3 has been around for five years now, the game is still selling well. It wasn’t until April 2020 that CD Projekt Red showed the latest sales figures: in 2019, the game still sold more than seven million copies. The strongest platform is the PC.
The title even broke the magical $ 50 million revenue mark on Steam. This means that in the future the developer will only have one for each copy sold on the distribution platform Print 20 percent of its operator Valve got to.

CD Projekt Red is also doing well
Not only The Witcher 3 is doing well, the developer studio as such can also achieve great success. CD Projekt has been officially the most valuable company in Poland since April 2020. In the meantime, they have expanded this position even further and have a market value of over eight billion dollars to the largest video game developer in Europe.
They even leave Ubisoft behind. The comparison is all the more impressive since CD Projekt Red only releases a big game every few years, while Ubisoft is planning five releases for the fiscal year 2020 – 2021 alone.
We remember the sorcerer
Before the Witcher 3 anniversary, we devoted a whole week to the White Wolf. So we give you an insight into the background of the game and also reveal a few previously unsolved secrets:

For example, do you know the story behind Geralt’s Emmentaler cheese blade? CD Projekt Red explained how this task manages to take humor and smelly cheese and still tell a tragic story.
However, not all of these crazy stories made it into the game. Things like a sword ballet while figure skating and slow-motion fights à la Max Payne fell victim to the scissors. Even the best silver sword in the game would have almost met a similar fate.
What’s next with The Witcher?
The story of the White Wolf may have ended, but that of the Witcher series has not yet. The development of a fourth part has already started. However, only a very small team is currently working on it and is more concerned with the preparations, while CD Projekt Red is moving towards the release of Cyberpunk 2077.
What the sorcerer experienced before the events of the game, you will learn in the Netflix series. It could even set a new record at Netflix. Reason enough for a successor: The second season should start in 2021.
