What: Sony
It was an unusual decision: instead of TVs, Sony focused on the PlayStation VR2 at CES 2023. The manufacturer delivers to: Today he revealed the entire lineup for the upcoming TV season.
Upper class with a lot of choice
The flagships read like the crème de la crème of display features. The Z9L and X95K boast mini-LED backlighting and are available in 8K or 4K. Behind it are two OLEDs: A95L and A80L. The special thing about the former: Sony classifies it as a QD-OLED. QD stands for Quantum Dots
a technology known from Samsung’s QLED TVs.
When it comes to the data sheet, Sony has only tweaked the screws. Everything is a bit better, but no feature that particularly stands out. The manufacturer’s OLEDs were considered to be quite dark. Possibly a hand was made here. The two OLED models also come with Acoustic Surface again. This turns the screen into a speaker.

Mid-range and entry-level in large sizes
Below the upper class, there are LED televisions with the usual specs. The many standard sizes are particularly interesting. 55 and 65 inches are set, but there is also a lot of leeway for film fans, especially upwards. From 43 to 98 inches, everything is included.

Finally: A gaming mode
The competition has always had the edge over Sony in one thing: gaming. Unpleasant for a manufacturer that produces highly successful consoles. The Japanese are following suit with the 2023 models. A corresponding preset is on board, as is a variable refresh rate to minimize screen tearing. Plug and play is the priority.
Sony goes one step further and lets you adjust the display in terms of size and width. Who wants to crane their neck playing League of Legends on a 65-incher? Smaller screen means better overview.
For the environment
An eco-dashboard should make it easier for you to adjust the power consumption more easily. After all, you don’t need maximum brightness for the daily news. Here all the settings are in one place: automatic switch-off time, energy saving modes and so on.
The company wants to be climate-neutral by 2040 and has therefore opted for recyclable plastic. A start has been made.
