This is the story of two Czechs on vacation
It all takes place in September 2012 when two developers are arrested by the Greeks and accused of espionage for taking photos of military buildings on the island of Lemnos. In this JV LEGENDS we invite you to discover the rather unbelievable story of Martin Pezlar and Ivan Buchta who got sent to prison while on vacation. This story quickly became a matter of state and made headlines around the world.
As explained in the video, both developers work for Bohemia interactivea video game developer and publisher based in Prague, Czech Republic. The specialty of the studio is the development of military simulation games. Martin Pezlar and Ivan Buchta made a name for themselves with the ARMA series, ultra-realistic games for wargame enthusiasts. In 2012, the studio is working on Arma III, which is due out for the PC at the end of the year. As a reminder, Arma III is a first-person shooter for PC, where We play Captain Scott Miller in a relatively futuristic context. The Captain and his men find themselves on a hostile Mediterranean island teeming with enemies. And this island is very much inspired by the island that the two men visited, namely Lemnos.

After 5 months in prison, Ivan Buchta and Martin Pezlar were finally released. Therefore, after several days of detention, a bail of 5,000 dollars was paid. The Bohemian Interactive Studio, for which the two developers work hard, supports the cause. The then President of the Czech Republic, Petr Nečas, even personally intervened to speed up the process, as the two men faced more than 20 years in prison if nobody intervened.
