The year has got off to a good start for Amazon Prime customers: Im January 2022 there are some really exciting games for free – among other things Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the co-op shooter World War Z: Aftermath and the strategy title Total War: Warhammer. We provide you with an overview of what is still available for free and how you can secure the free games.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Fans had to wait far too long to finally be able to pull out a lightsaber in a Star Wars game. And no, Battlefront or the Lego titles don’t count, the playful focus is somewhere else entirely! Admittedly, the actual lightsaber mechanics of Jedi: Fallen Order a little bit of the ghosts. After all, the weapon from a more civilized time resembles a glowing baseball bat and lacks the destructive effect from, for example, the Jedi Knight games.
But Jedi: Fallen Order impresses with a fun battle system, an exciting story and impressive graphics on diverse planets. For the in-house Star Wars title, developer Respawn Entertainment was inspired a little by Soulslike games. In other words: The level of difficulty can get tough and screen death can definitely hurt, as we run the risk of losing our hard-earned experience points for valuable skills.
Jedi: Fallen Order never becomes unfair or frustrat ing, instead the game is a challenge – even for Star Wars veterans. But there can be problems with backtracking and thus finding the way in Jedi: Fallen Order – thanks to Metroidvania elements. With this game, the well-known strategy series Total War ended up in the fantasy universe of Warhammer for the first time. The excursion was always a success, as we already found in our GameStar test: The drastically different races in particular bring a lot of playful variety to the real-time battles, while the screen bustle always creates a real Warhammer feeling.
In direct comparison to other games in the Total War series, Warhammer looks a bit stripped down and straightforward. Fans have to agree to this compromise for better or worse if they don’t want to use mods for Warhammer battles in Total War guise. World War Z: Aftermath

Fans of Left 4 Dead or similar co-op games shouldn’t miss World War Z. Here we fight the army of the living dead with up to three friends on different continents and use a wide variety of weapons and character classes.
Especially on the higher levels of difficulty and with a well-rehearsed team, World War Z unfolds its full potential, the playful highlight should be the gigantic masses of zombies, which make us shudder again and again at the sight of them.
Prime’s even got the Aftermath version of World War Z for free, which comes with two new campaigns and a few new characters and weapons. There is now also a first-person mode. You can find out more about the new features of the Aftermath Edition in the official trailer:
