We don't know if someday we will face a zombie apocalypse, but it is good to keep in mind that 1,000 soldiers with infinite ammunition could easily withstand the 40,000 zombie challenge, at least in the vision they share mushroomwig on Reddit. Obviously, this could only happen if the soldiers are almost machines because otherwise fatigue is most likely will end up taking its toll on them and perish before the horde of zombies that never stop attacking.
Under these lines you will see this automated fight with a happy ending, although perhaps it would have been good to take into account the real time that something of this caliber could take and if, for physical reasons, the soldiers would start to run out. We are not saying that this battle is not equally epic, but an extra dose of realism it would make it, in our opinion, much more interesting.
