For several years, Disney has offered live-action adaptations for each of its classics. This time it’s Peter Pan’s turn.
Disney is a well-oiled machine. And the goal is to capitalize as much as possible on the company’s classics through live-action adaptations. So after that Roi lion, mulan or The lady and the trampit’s your turn Peter Pan to make a second youth with real actors. Here is the very first trailer.
Peter Pan and Wendy, a film that promises success?
As the name suggests, the film follows the adventures of Peter who will find Neverland and the lost children. However, the feature film will specifically focus on the relationship with Wendy here. For the main roles of the children we f ind the young Ever Anderson, who will interpret Wendy and Alexander Molony in the role of Peter Pan. Of course, Tinker Bell is also included, played by Yara Shahidi, while the horrible Captain Hook is played by Jude Law.
In terms of implementation, it is David Lowery to whom we owe the excellent The Green Knight or even moving A ghost story. A safe bet in terms of the poetry of the script and the image. Also, we find a bit of green tones in the trailer below The Green Knight. Lowery’s trademark?
Bad news
The film is scheduled to appear on Disney+ from the start, but a theatrical release has been announced at times alongside the streaming platform. Unfortunately, it was announced in December 2020 that it would be releasing exclusively on Disney+ due to the Covid-19 pandemic. And despite the significantly better health situation, the plan remains with an exit Peter Pan on April 28 without being able to see it in dark rooms.
