Harry Potter, the revival
Did you miss the release of the movies and/or books? Now it’s time to finally catch it in flight. Indeed, the magical world of Harry Potter is more alive than ever. 26 years after the release of the very first book, the license keeps renewing itself with new proposals for fans and newcomers alike. Recently, of course, we had the remarkable release of Hogwarts Legacy: The Hogwarts Legacy. Last I heard the game sold 15 million copies and grossed over a billion. Impressive figures that show that there is always an audience that would like to delve into the magical world of wizards.
And that audience will see a lot of things to put their mouths on. A few days ago it is the mobile game Harry Potter: Magic Emerges (our test here) which has made itself available worldwide. On the gaming side, we also expect Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, the competitive multiplayer game with Quidditch sauce. And then, of course, there’s the HBO-orchestrated reboot series project of the original saga. That’s what projects are all about, isn’t it? And you know what ? That’s not even really all! While we’re still hoping for confirmation of a Hogwarts Legacy 2, Warner has unveiled a little surprise project!
A free “series” for beginners
With all these new entries into the universe, some may have only recently discovered the wizarding world. With this in mind, Warner has put together an entirely new program for first years who need a gateway to understanding the world of Harry Potter. This is a series of videos, each answering a pretty basic question about the wizarding world. Warner Bros. would like to accompany you through the summer with this “series”. In fact, the idea is to air an episode every Sunday.
So far 5 episodes have been released and here are the topics: “Introduction to the Wizarding World”, “Who are the Heroes?”, “The Meaning of the Hogwarts Houses”, “How Does Magic Work?” etc “What’s it like being a student at Hogwarts?”. A good opportunity to learn the basics and maybe make you want to get to know the world of wizards better, who knows. And if this format has prompted you to delve a little deeper into the topic, Note that there are podcasts that explore this universe in more depth, such as the France Culture series Harry Potter, a whole world of philosophical questions or the podcast NEWT signed daily prophet. As for the Warner Bros. “series,” see you next Sunday with a new “episode.” What do you think the theme will be this time?
