Seven strangers against an unbeatable empire. The Witcher universe expands with The Witcher: Origin of Blood, a four-part prequel created for Netflix set in elven times. And even though we won’t see Geralt or Yennefer, let alone Ciri, what is shown points to ways.
The essential: The Witcher: Origin of Blood is a new commitment to epic fantasy whose events take place 1,200 years before the novels, the television series and, of course, the video games. Before humans and monsters inhabited the Continent. An interesting blank canvas for great adventures.
The leading role falls on Another y mountain, who lead a small and highly diverse group of outcasts determined to overthrow the oppressive force of an empire that maintains order on the Continent with an iron fist. However, the first step to achieve this is the most complicated of all: the seven must learn to trust each other.
That has to do with The Witcher? The great claim of The Witcher: Origin of Blood is that events will gradually lead to an event that will change the course of history: the creation of the first sorcerer.
Ahead, a feat of swords and sorcery strongly inspired by both the world of Andrzej Sapkowski and the literary classics of magic and swords. With the explicit action of the Netflix series and a budget and cinematography that, after what has been seen, are already convincing. And the best thing is that we will soon open this little gift for fans of The Witcher and fantasy.
The Witcher: Origin of Blood premieres December 25 on Netflix. A complete Christmas present in the form of four special episodes and, at the same time, a stupendous prelude to the premiere of the third season of The Witcher, whose premiere is scheduled for summer 2023.
Joy and good news for fans of the series and a Geralt of Rivia, especially considering that the next batch of episodes will be the last one that Henry Cavill will star in.
