Before Google releases the Pixel 8 series later this year, we can expect the Google Pixel 7a. This should be cheaper than the other two Pixel 7 phones and placed in the mid-range. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but a fresh leak should at least prove the existence of the smartphone. The whistleblower even provides the first technical details.
90 Hertz OLED and 64 megapixel main camera
Debayan Roy’s leaks have not always turned out to be 100% accurate in the past, so you better take this one with a grain of salt.
On his Twitter-Account he shares the first photos of the supposed Google Pixel 7a. Then he shows the front and back of the cell phone. The design is very similar to the other Pixel 7 phones. The photos have a relatively low resolution and the leaker could not give a clear answer to some questions. For example, he “believes” that the case is made of metal. We can therefore assume that he did not take the photos himself or only held the cell phone briefly in his h ands.

In addition to the photos, Debayan Roy provides the first specifications for the mobile phone:
- Screen: 6.1 inch FHD+ 90Hz OLED
- Processor: Tensor G2
- Cameras: 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 and 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle
- RAM: LPDDR5 RAM
- Storage: UFS 3.1 (Universal Flash Storage; capacity not specified)
- Operating system: Android 13
- 5 Watt Wireless Charging
The specs are pretty much what you might expect from a mid-range Pixel 7. The refresh rate of 90 Hz is very pleasing. The predecessor, the Google Pixel 6a, had to be content with 60 Hz. Another useful addition is wireless charging support, but only at a slow 5 watts.
In addition to this leak, there was a leak a few days ago about the next feature update for the current Pixel phones. You can read more about it here:

Leaks have turned out to be true in the past. What is your opinion on the first technical data of the Google Pixel 7a? Is that okay or are there other features that would be important to you? With a 90 Hertz display, the mid-range cell phone is even a bit ahead of the new iPhone. Tell us what you think about it in the comments!
