A while back, the One Piece anime gave fans an iconic scene, and now we know it broke the internet. Given the passage in question, we’re not really surprised.
One Piece continues in the manga and currently fans are going crazy with each new chapter. Apparently, Eiichiro Oda didn’t let readers breathe a sigh of relief after the story arc in Wano. In the anime it was a bit of the same story. We waited impatiently for the new episodes, especially during the final confrontation with Kaido. In fact, one particular scene from this storyline “completely broke the internet.” And you’ll quickly understand why.
Gear 5 in One Piece, a legendary scene
If you have been following what happened in the One Piece anime, you surely know what we are referring to. Towards the end, Luffy and Kaido have a duel and unfortunately the Straw Hat is defeated. However, it reappears and takes on a new form, that of Gear 5. The latter has been the subject of numerous theories, and we finally got to see what it looked like (without giving it away beforehand). It lived up to expectations, with oh-so-epic music accompanying its unveiling. Be it manga readers or others, everyone was excited to witness this scene.
More specifically, this unprecedented power was revealed in Episode 1071. It was a remarkable moment on Crunchyroll, one of the most used SVOD platforms for watching anime. For good reason, we’ve just had confirmation that so many people flocked to see the sequel that the servers simply crashed. So we’re playing with the phrase “Breaking the Internet,” but that’s part of what’s happened at this level. We can’t even imagine what it will be like when Luffy discovers One Piece.
The anime, which was right in the middle of the Wano arc, ended the story with a bang by containing many highly anticipated moments. Gear 5, a power revealed in Episode 1071 and which caused Crunchyroll to crash, has been followed by audiences since its reveal in the manga. And she wasn’t disappointed with the way it was translated here.
A remake is in the works
Sticking with the anime theme, it should be noted that a remake is in the works and there is currently no release date to announce. Yes yes, a remake that comes from a collaboration between Netflix and WT Studio (Attack of the TitansSeasons 1 to 3, Spy x family) and the creators of the manga. It will be exclusive to the SVOD platform and will continue the story from the beginning, i.e. with the East Blue arc. As for the name, don’t worry, it’s just what it is The One Piece. This is quite interesting because we must not forget that it all started in the 90s and this makes the animation, the staging or the drawings a bit dated. Given the studio responsible for the project, we can be reassured with the result.
