Gaming News This Nintendo Direct video game is managed by the greatest talent and you haven’t even seen it yet!
A new trailer aired during the Nintendo Direct… but only for the Japanese! There are big names behind the project.
Developed by FuRyu studio, Reynatis was announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct on February 27th and must have piqued the curiosity of Final Fantasy fans. This action role-playing game offers the luxury of a story by Kazushige Nojima, screenwriter of certain episodes of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts saga, with a soundtrack by Yoko Shimomura, all set in the city of Shibuya.
When Kingdom Hearts meets Harry Potter
In Reynatis we follow the story of certain people who are endowed with magical powers that give them great power but also cause them to become victims of great discrimination. They are then forced to hide to avoid oppression. However, they are divided into two factions, each with different goals. On the one hand, Crimson Chaos tries to free wizards from oppression by any means possible, on the other hand, Azure Justice tries to restore order, similar to police officers in the magical world.
From the trailer it’s hard to understand what awaits us in Reynatis’ scenario, but it’s not really surprising if we know that Kazushige Nojima is behind it and if we know the convoluted scenario of Kingdom Hearts. What is noticeable, however, is its dynamic combat system that will delight fans of Sora’s adventures, with some similarities in character design too. If the trailer for the game was only released in Japan, it is because it will be available there for the first time on Switch PS5 and PS4 from July 25th.
Moving from Japan to the West is sometimes not easy
If Reynatis arrives here after a Japanese release, many JRPG licenses haven’t been so lucky. Some western fans of the genre still had to be patient. Take for example the Granblue Fantasy license, which had great success with a mobile game in the Land of the Rising Sun. Despite the addition of English in 2016, the game remains limited to Japan, but given the buzz around the title, the license is trying to conquer the West. In particular, fans were able to get their hands on Granblue Fantasy Relink, which had huge success at the time, having known the license mainly under the guise of fighting games. There is no doubt that the license should become a permanent fixture here.
