If you want to see the movie Creed 3 in the cinema, you should think twice about it. Because going to the cinema could end up in a police operation. This is apparently due to a TikTok trend.
- Several screenings of the film Creed3 recently had to be canceled.
- Among other things, there was a police operation in Essen, Bremen and Hamburg.
- The police suspect a TikTok trend as the cause.
Creed 3 has been in German cinemas since March 2nd. The latest part of the Rocky saga not only keeps fans of the series in suspense, but also the police in this country. The officials had to move out several times in the past few days and ensure order in the cinema hall. Cases have been reported from Essen, Bremen and Hamburg, for example.
The reason: Some visitors rioted. “Guests got up, climbed over seats and threw snacks through the hall,” says the press release from the Essen/Mülheim an der Ruhr police force. Videos from the corresponding performances showing the riots are circulating on TikTok. Among them is a clip from Wiesbaden and Neuköln. However, there are no police reports on this.
Why are the riots happening? The Essen police do not rule out that there is a “negative TikTok trend” behind the actions. “Some people show such antisocial behavior that should lead to a movie being canceled,” the press release continues.
Similar incidents already occurred in 2022
It wouldn’t be the first time a TikTok challenge for a movie went awry. In 2022, similar incidents occurred in Great Britain with the film “Minions – In Search of the Mini Boss”. Teens attended the screenings dressed like villain Gru. During the film, they applauded loudly and disrupted the screening.

According to the trend, the police are warning of this. Because the perpetrators may be threatened with claims for damages. The actions can also have criminal consequences.
