Titan Quest 2 has delayed the launch of its Early Access to this summer, due to the heavy competition in the Action RPG
genre during the winter season.
Early Access Pushed to Avoid Crowded Release Window
Grimlore Games has confirmed that the sequel to the Diablo-style action RPG set in Greek, Egyptian, and Asian mythology originally released in 2006, will now launch in Early Access sometime this summer.
Originally planned for winter 2024/2025the decision to delay comes from the intense presence of competing titles in the same timeframe. In a statement posted on Steam, the team explained:
“We want to give you an update on the release situation. We had announced that Titan Quest II would enter Early Access in the winter of 2024/2025, and we believe the game is in a very good state for that.
However, after analyzing the market, we realized there was a lot of noise around the ARPG genre during the planned release window. That’s why we’ve decided to move Early Access to summer. We hope to announce a specific date very soon.”
This update comes after months of silence following the reveal of the highly anticipated sequel to Titan Quest.
Promising Feedback from Internal Playtests
Despite the delay, the development team shared some optimistic data from internal playtests. Players were able to explore the game’s first chapter, experiencing its mythological setting and combat mechanics.
According to the feedback, 92% of participants gave positive reviewsand of that group, 66% identified as “Titan Quest experts”—a strong sign that the game is on the right track. Additionally, the graphics received a score of 5.25 out of 6and the sound design was also well-received.
