- Notice: Star Wars Spoilers: Episode IX – Skywalker's rise
Many people wait and wish with all our being that Rey finally fell on the dark side. He could take the hand of Kylo Ren or his father, Lord Sidious. On the other hand, Kylo Ren could return to the luminous side like Ben alone. But it rarely rains to everyone's taste. The end of this trilogy was very different and will be repeated again in the adaptation of comics.
The vignettes of Star Wars: Skywalker's promotion #2released on March 26, 2025, continues the story we saw in the movie. Everything passes as planned, as a good adaptation, until it stops doing so. This comic includes a canon scene that we did not see in the movie. Why canon? Because it comes from the movie's very scriptwriters.
It is precisely the scene we want: King Palpatine as Empress of a new galactic empire with Kylo Ren. King's fans can be calm. This is not an event written in stone or the comic will change the story, it is simply a vision of the girl in a moment of extreme stress. Do you remember when King tries to mark a Darth Vader when stopping the ship that theoretically takes to Chewbacca? Well, just after bursting it with the Sith rays.

Who would have faced this malefic duo? Some fans saw in Finn the new hero that the franchise needed, one completely separated from the surnames Palpatine and Skywalker and destined to end them once and for all. Was the story that Star Wars finally chose better or worse? This is a debate in which we prefer not to enter, but that we leave open for those who never raised it … or those who still want something as seen.
