November is a pretty miserable month, if you ask me. First off, it’s cooling down right now, and my apartment is freezing. No more Halloween vibes, still a little too far away from Christmas to feel festive yet. That being said, Xbox Game Pass is sure to have a blast this month, keeping many of us busy.
Xbox Game Pass typically throws stellar offerings left, right, and center. We guarantee at least one or two solid subscription additions every month, and November is no exception, except we’re getting more than just two good games.
Last week, we saw Tom Orry burn his lunch while letting the Vampire Survivors grab his claws, and I can imagine he wasn’t the only one feeling that way. Xbox Game Pass lands on November 10, so don’t be fooled by the graphically inconspicuous screenshots you might see.
Vampire Survivors is a casual game with roguelite elements that pits you against hordes of the undead. Take a look at the most popular Steam reviews, “People still buy CODs every year” and “Sex is almost as fun, getting off meth will be easier” and you know you’re in for a top-notch gaming experience.
As of today, the addition of Vampire Survivor to Xbox Game Pass is two — in our opinion — contenders for Game of the Year. First up, we have Pentiment, a “tapestry of historical intrigue” created by our very own Jim Trinca from Obsidian. The game takes place in a small Bavarian town over a 25-year period and features a beautifully illustrated art style that draws inspiration from historical manuscripts while being historically accurate.
As you play as Andreas Maler trying to solve a crime, in a time of great religious and political change, Pentiment offers an incredibly engaging way to communicate stories and experience history.
Coming to Xbox Game Pass today with Pentiment is Somerville. Another 5/5 rated review by Tom Orry, Somerville is a Jumpship sci-fi adventure co-created by Inside’s Dino Patti. That said, before you start comparing games, Tom describes Somerville as grander, albeit with some control quirks.
Somerville is more of an interactive adventure than a full-fledged gaming experience. It immerses you in its world as you piece together the story, and in Tom’s case, it’s an emotional, affecting experience in all the right ways.
However, that’s not all about November. On November 8, we also saw Return to Monkey Island added to Xbox Game Pass alongside Football Manager 2023. Then, on November 11th, we launched the Flight Simulator 40th Anniversary Edition, which hid a really nice Easter egg for the fans.
What do you think of this month’s Xbox Game Pass lineup? Personally, I’d love to finally check out Somerville and Pentiment, but finding the time to play with my Pokémon TCG Online addiction is tricky.
