Christmas is just around the corner and there’s a really nice present for you next week – because the Epic Games Store is unpacking two hits that every RPG fan should have seen at least once: We’re talking about the two CRPG milestones Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny.

That’s what Pillars of Eternity & Tyranny is all about
Both Pillars of Eternity and Tyranny are from Obsidian Entertainment, which are also known with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Fallout: New Vegas and have become popular with RPG fans. Her latest work The Outer Worlds was also convincing in 2019 as an alternative to the modern Fallout games.
The two games that will be given for free next week are so-called CRPGs: Classic role-playing games in the style of Baldur’s Gate, Icewind Dale or Planescape Torment, which offer a high level of complexity as well as tactical real-time battles and are viewed from an iso perspective demonstrate. There is of course a lot of story and dialogues – so the bottom line is tons of texts.
Pillars of Eternity
Pillars of Eternity is set in the fantasy world of Eora. It is reminiscent of medieval Europe and the player slips into the role of a so-called “guardian” who has the special ability to read the past lives of other souls. Tyranny
In Tyranny, decisions you make during the story are even more important: In the war-torn world of Terratus, evil has already triumphed and you take on the role of a servant of the tyrant Cyrus. It is completely up to you whether you enforce the rules of the evil ruler or try to act for the good of the world.
