I like a good cross-border game, even though they are usually limited to fighting games and online activities. It's exciting to see developers embracing fans with each other, explaining and merging each other's stuff together, and finally working enthusiastically across the industry. With that in mind, the intersection between the "Fire Emblem" and "New Goddess" series sounds like a great idea.
It focuses on friends Aoi Itsuki and Tsubasa Oribe. Since Tsubasa's sister Ayaha disappeared at a concert five years ago, the timid girl hopes to become a singer and continue her brother and sister's acting career. During the first audition, Zimbasa was attacked by mirages and demons who pursued the inherent natural artistic ability of human beings. To fight back, Tsubasa and Itsuki took the power of Chrom and Caeda from the Fire Emblem series, and they helped transform them into a magical "form of slaughter." Unfortunately, their new friends lost all their memory of who they were and where they came from. The only thing that's clear is that the maritime ages building often attacks entertainers, so what better way to join an entertainment company to monitor these events?
This is not the smoothest integration of the theme into its setting, but the entertainment industry has given Tokyo the Phantom Conference a status that transcends its own identity, both good and bad. Let's start with the good things: Tsubasa and friends are being trained as idols, Japanese all-round entertainers, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions goes to great lengths to show different aspects of work. Each chapter is dedicated to another aspect, whether it is a model, an actor, or a show host. Chapters also often feature short anime music videos in which your character is performing a new song. Round-based battles take place on a stage, following your performance in the stands, with a large number of fans. Your characters spin acrobatics, draw their own signatures in the air for each spell, and cheer on each other. Each hero wears elaborate costumes, full of love for magic girl and boy design. If you complete a side mission to teammates, they will be under special attack, reminiscent of their signature show. Each victory was celebrated with applause and confetti that have never been seen since Ace Attorney.
But without this stylish finish, fighting is a familiar thing. Similar to the Persona game, the latter is a sub-series of Shin Megami Tensei itself. Offense is the best defense, and if your opponent doesn't even lose, you have the best chance of winning. If you can exploit the weaknesses of your enemies (for example, attack them with specific weapons or spells), you can start a session. If they have the right skills, during the session, your other team members can immediately link the attack to your hands instead of causing the monster to die immediately. Watch the battle without interruption, full of energy, I like every unnecessary change and attack. If it still takes too long for you, you can now enable fast sessions with the Encore version and skip special attack sequences with the click of a button.
