Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege continues to enjoy great popularity thanks to an active e-sports community. Ubisoft is now stepping up and has announced the next big update with “Operation Deadly Omen”.
Rainbow Six: Siege is particularly relevant in the e-sports sector, which is currently evident in Brazil, among other places. The Six Invitational, the largest tournament in the tactical shooter cosmos, is taking place there – and Ubisoft has now used this event to announce the next big add-on to the game, “Operation Deadly Omen”.
The new update is intended to keep players engaged in Rainbow Six: Siege and to delight them with new content and features. In Year 9 Season 1 you will once again get a new operator with Deimos, who has his own skills and will enable new approaches.
There are also some long-awaited and larger changes. Ubisoft has revised the way shields work to make them better for players who want to feel safe behind them. At the same time, there are a few caveats to ensure that they don’t become too powerful over the course of the game. A new Free Look mechanic gives players more control over the field of view.
The ADS mechanics have been revised on a larger scale, which should noticeably change the weapon meta in the game. Further quality of life improvements, accessibility changes and optimized onboarding systems round out the major update. And: Last but not least, the anti-cheat systems have also been updated. Operation Deadly Omen will be released in March.
