2019 is coming to an end, and the game year is also coming to an end. The density of high-class games was once again very high. The list of top games by our editorial team has become correspondingly extensive. There was no way around the following crashes for us.
30th place: Astral Chain
If you're looking for action, Platinum Games is always the right address. So it is hardly surprising that the latest switch-exclusive Japanese work is packed with huge monsters, spectacular effects and tough combos that make you hear and see. The remains of humanity are threatened by beings from another dimension. A special police force takes advantage of this to have the intruders swallow their own medicine. Players and the legion hanging on a chain fight side by side, which allows some crazy maneuvers.
29th place: Anno 1800
After the Anno series relied on futuristic urban planning in the recent past, the newest offspring Anno 1800 takes you back to the Victorian era. To get the increasingly complex goods chains on your own islands under one roof and to keep your residents happy. Anno 1800 is a captivating construction simulation that also looks a lot.
28th: Lonely Mountains Downhill
At first glance, one could label Lonely Mountains Downhill as a three-dimensional competitor competitor, after all, the basic idea is the same: You ride your bike from A to B, try to spend as good a time as possible and fly over the handlebars as rarely as possible. But Lonely Mountains Downhill is so much more. It features an imaginative track design that encourages players to discover shortcuts. It leaves you with the scepter during the exploration trip, so that you can take a look at the beautiful surroundings in peace. The bottom line is less punk rock than Ubisoft's Trials series, but more jazz on two wheels.
27th place: Blasphemous
If you have an eye for a pixelated retro look, you are guaranteed to get a pounding heart when you look at Blasphemous. The Dark Souls clone with Metroidvania influences also makes a lot of things playful. The massive combat system is precise, the world mysterious and full of history, and the character design is grotesquely impressive. Soulsborne fans in particular get their money's worth here.
26th place: Heave-Ho
Often it is the simplest game mechanics that are the most fun. In Heave-Ho there is nothing more than shuffling through a course with your Klops on two arms to the goal. But through the chaos that arises due to the sometimes more, sometimes less cooperative teammates, Heave-Ho quickly develops into a fight against painfully cramping hands and gravity. You will only feel your laugh muscles a day later. Quickly explained and still great fun.
