Along the F40PH-2CAT powerful diesel locomotive through the San Francisco Bay area, there is still 750 yards to walk until you must stop on the platform. This shouldn't be too tricky, especially since you've done a long stretch and need to do more than just enjoy the view and prepare the idea. The throttle has been set to idle, and momentum and the absolute weight of the train keep you going. 750 yards could be 750 miles. It only needs a brake lever to move smoothly, and the giant vehicle you command should glide to perfection with perfect elegance.
This is how it should work. The real train driver does just that. When passengers see a train taxiing to a precise stop, we often don't mind the skills that may be needed, but instead focus on lost minutes and scramble for table seats.
However, in the first few hours of Train Sim World 2020, you will learn a lot of respect for the starring vehicle driving. When ticking at 750 yards, it's too easy to plunge yourself into a crazy leverage shock. Pulling the brake to the "repair" state will load pressure into the system. With the pressure at the correct level, moving the same rod to its "LAP" position with precise timing will apply the brakes. Then you immediately trembled, 600 yards away from your destination. It's time to release the brakes and dial the throttle again. The spiral stutter cycle that inevitably speeds up and slows down, causing you to exceed your ideal parking spot shortly after being about five yards away. There are enough trains on the platform to unlock the doors and welcome new passengers, but you are late, clumsy and leave a lot of room for improvement. The heart beats, breathing is blocked, and it's time to restart. You know you can do it perfectly once more.
