LEGO has repeatedly teased and has finally unveiled its next big sets in the colors of one of Nintendo’s biggest franchises: Mario. The Plumber is expanding his universe and welcoming new characters to the family, and he doesn’t have a moustache.
During its last major event, LEGO had announced the impending arrival of a brand new character that was hugely popular with fans of both Nintendo and the Mario universe. A protagonist and his entire primate family, who have also helped Big N to flourish for many, many years. Of course we’re talking about Donkey Kong and his whole clique. The Kongs are out and intending to make their mark in the LEGO universe with no fewer than two major collectible sets.
New to LEGO Mario
The Tie Primate and several members of his small family will soon be entitled to an exclusive set that is part of the LEGO Mario collection launched a few years ago. Small and large collectors will soon be able to enrich their small, expanded universe of colored stones with new pieces. After several teasers, including a very recent one that is only a few days old, LEGO has finally lifted the veil on these new sets by bombarding us with images but also and above all by giving us a release date and a price . As icing on the cake, these large sets are also accompanied by several small expansions.
Two large sets to collect and some expansions
The Donkey Kong Pack includes a new biome and several iconic characters from the franchise. But the largest of the sets is none other than the Diddy Kong expansion and its mine cart run, which is more expensive but twice the size. As usual, it will be possible to implant this new set and its expansions in any other LEGO Mario biome to create a real small universe for you.
