Windows 11 24H2 gets two new functions with which you can learn foreign languages more easily.
In the Windows Insider program, Microsoft regularly releases preview versions with new features for Windows 11 24H2.
The developers have with the past weekend Build-Version 26120.3872 four functions introduced. Two of them should improve the reading experience – especially if you are learning a foreign language.
However, the preview has an objectively clear catch: PCs with AMD and Intel processors have to be patient, because the new features are initially only available for »Copilot+« computer with Snapdragon processor. After all, the functions will soon be submitted.

“Reading Coach”: Personalized reading support for learning languages
What is meant is the “Reading Coach”, which is integrated into the “Click to do” function of Windows 11. Click to do uses artificial intelligence to suggest context -sensitive actions. With the new Reading Coach extension you can improve your reading skills and pronunciation.
- The function can easily be used: Mark the text, which Click to do recognized, then select the “Practice in Reading Coach” option. After reading, Reading Coach gives feedback and shows improvement options.
- Reading Coach offers personalized exercises based on words that a user has wrongly pronounced. With this, Microsoft wants to create a evaluation -free learning environment for you in which you can practice at your own pace.
The function is not completely new-Microsoft has already integrated 365 applications in various Microsoft, including Word and OneNote for web. Integration in Windows 11, however, makes the function available throughout the system and promises easier accessibility.
»Immersive Reader«: Reading -free reading with adaptation options
The “Immersive Reader”, on the other hand, is intended to help minimize distractions when reading. As with the Reading Coach, you access the feature via the click-to-do menu and can thus adapt the appearance of the text, for example via font, size, distance or background topic.
- In addition, the Immersive Reader text can read aloud, display and verbs syllable, substantive and adjectives.
- A particularly helpful function for the visual learner among you is the image dictionary option, which illustrates unknown words with pictures in order to facilitate understanding.
The function was originally developed to support readers with dyslexia and dysgraphy and has been available in the EDGE browser for some time. Here you will find the Immersive Reader via the book symbol in the address bar. Nice side effect: advertisements are not played out in this view.
This is what the context menu for the Immersive Reader and Reading Coach looks like.
The rest of the festival
Finally, the Microsoft-preview 26120,3872 brings two other functions that are rotated in the cloud stored photos and voice access:
- In the Windows preview with natural language you can search for pictures stored in the cloud. The search takes place via the Windows search field. As an example, Microsoft mentions terms such as “dog on the beach”, which subsequently play pictures from your folders that meet this description.
- In addition, the voice access becomes more intelligent and now allows specific terms to add to the dictionary. To a certain extent, you train the voice control to your own vocabulary, so that you can hereby improve the accuracy of recognition.
