After the upcoming Gamescom has already had to deal with one or two cancellations, including from Nintendo, a major publisher has now confirmed its participation.
Gamescom 2024 is getting closer and closer and it is slowly becoming exciting to see which publishers will present their new products in Cologne. Nintendo has already turned down the fair, other manufacturers are still keeping quiet.
With Ubisoft, at least another industry giant has now confirmed its participation, which makes sense, because Ubisoft has at least two big blockbusters to show and a few more names may be added at the Ubisoft Forward on June 10th.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is definitely a big deal, and Ubisoft will certainly not miss the opportunity to present the Japanese offshoot of the series in detail. Star Wars Outlaws will also be released on August 30th, shortly after Gamescom, and it is of course a good idea to let visitors get their hands dirty.
It remains to be seen whether there will be something at the Gamescom Opening Night Live Showcase on the first day of the event, a stand throughout the entire event, or something completely different. But that will certainly be announced soon. It is very likely, however, that Ubisoft will be putting on something bigger for the two blockbusters.
It remains to be seen what will happen to other major players in the industry. Last year, the fair was already well booked, but quite a few exhibitors such as Sony, Electronic Arts and THQ Nordic skipped the fair or, like Ubisoft, only attended with a small contingent.
A 13-minute developer video provides plenty of additional background information on the newly introduced Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which is set in feudal Japan.
