Ubisoft: Several large brands receive more development time

After the good experiences with Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft gives several large game brands more development time.

Ubisoft had a really easy time in the recent past, because many of the most promising titles finally flopped. With Assassin's Creed Shadows you have now broken the spell and finally delivered a top hit again – both in terms of the evaluations and commercial success.

Assassin's Creed Shadows did not appear as planned, but had to be moved backwards more clearly. The development team used the additional time to significantly improve the game overall – and that has finally been paid out.

Ubisoft now seems to pull his teachings out of it and wants to establish a similar precaution in other large game brands. The current financial report now states that after a detailed review of the line-up in the period October to December, it was “added to some of the greatest productions for additional development time in order to create the best possible conditions for success”.

“This decision was already an advantage for the quality of Assassin's Creed Shadows. As a consequence, there is a significant growth compared to the 2025/2026 financial year in the fiscal years 2026/2027 and 2027/2028,” it continues. In the next two years of financial years, “strong content from the group's largest brands” are planned.

According to insider reports, other games from the Assassin's Creed and the next shooter within the Far Cry series should be affected by the newly taken direction. The latter was postponed internally to the end of 2026.

The remake of Splinter Cell, which is created under the code name “North”, is also said to be one of the “biggest productions” that are more developed. And: The next Ghost Recon under the working title “OVR” is also affected.
