Ubisoft announces new game details The Divisionan indie survival action multiplayer shooter released in 2021.
The game was originally slated for release on PC and consoles in 2021-2022, but takes place in a new setting that offers a new perspective on the world.
Heartland takes players to Silver Creek, a once pleasant town in the American Midwest that has been reduced to ruins after the dollar flu spread. It’s a hostile environment filled with pollution, hordes of enemies, and the threat of disease and dehydration.
The main rival faction is the Pilgrims, which appear to be a mix between the first game’s Marauders and the sequel’s more militarized faction.
For the first time in The Division, Silver Creek’s base of operations has become a shared space. This area is the Rockit Rink, an abandoned ice rink where you can socialize, team up, customize your character, and prepare for your next move.
Sessions begin and end at the base of operations, and each time you escape, you bring back collected materials and gear to better prepare you for your days ahead in Silver Creek. The Base of Operations can be used to craft supplies, and before each session you can choose between three classes: Weapons Specialist, Medic, and Survival Specialist.
Each class has unique abilities, and when they form squads, they are complemented by other player classes. When you venture out during the day, you’ll find supplies to help you through the night. At night, the town becomes more dangerous, and PvEvP gameplay forces you to think fast and cooperate with others to get out alive.
Still a work in progress, the development team is running a beta phase and gathering player feedback before moving on to the next phase. If you are interested in participating in future closed betas, you can register at the link.
