Although “Far Cry 6” will take advantage of the powerful features of the new console, Ubisoft will not give up millions of existing users of the previous generation console.
Far Cry 6The impressive visual effects are one of the few highlights in Friday’s gameplay announcement. But good graphics tend to worry PS4 and Xbox One users, and they have good reasons to do so.
Of course, “Far Cry 6” is by no means the only large-scale open world game released on two generations of consoles at the same time. The disastrous release of Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 and Xbox One still makes many people more cautious when excited about the upcoming games.
Ubisoft is aware of this and plans to show the game running on PS4 and Xbox One. David Grivel of Ubisoft Toronto told VGC that although Far Cry 6 will promote PS5 and Xbox Series X, developers want to make sure that it will also run well on PS4 and Xbox One.
“In the next few weeks and months, we will definitely start showing more on different platforms,” Grivell said.
“What I can say is that I can’t say too much about the specifications or similar details, that is, on the previous generation and the new Xbox series and the PS5 generation, the game ran well.”
When asked whether the team generally believes that the previous generation version will encounter any problems, Grivel explained: “No. Our real goal is to achieve the highest quality on all these platforms.”
“We are very, very cautious about this, so we will show more details and more information soon,” he added.
As for how Far Cry 6 will take advantage of the power of PS5 and Xbox Series X, Grivel confirmed that the game will run at 4K 60fps, which is always great to see.
“About the new generation, one detail I can add is that it allows us to run games at 60 FPS and 4K, which is really cool,” Grivel said. “I tested it on the company’s kit, and I can definitely think that this is a great thing for the new generation, but it doesn’t mean that the previous generation was abandoned in any way.”
“Far Cry 6” will land on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia and Luna on October 7.
