Resident Evil 7 will soon be released on a brand new medium and that might come as a surprise. Capcom wants to reach as many people as possible.
Capcom continues to use what already works. While the Japanese company waits for a possible Resident Evil 9, which currently only exists through rumors, it is increasing the number of ports. The next step into a new medium is none other than one of the most popular episodes of recent years: Resident Evil 7.
Resident Evil 7 surprisingly appears on a new medium
It has already made a name for itself on consoles and PCs and even in VR, but it still lacked a park for RE 7, the one for mobile. While the AAA market in this sector is in decline, the recent unflattering figures still testify to this, especially those for several Resident Evils. But Capcom doesn’t seem to want to stop there. The publisher took advantage of a short stream to introduce us to its next big title, which will soon be available on iOS and Android.
Mobile requires the game to review all of its gameplay. Fortunately, RE 7 doesn’t have a cluttered UI and therefore easily leaves room for tactile buttons, although adding a controller is of course more than advisable.
Soon enough, you’ll find Ethan and his lifelong love Mia contending with a degenerate family that harbors dark secrets. While we don’t yet know what the game will be worth with this new support, Resident Evil 7 remains a safe bet in survival horror. If Capcom gets it right again, the port should be at least as solid as previous titles that have already been ported to mobile. Also, note that the game will include all of the Gold Edition DLC. Enough to add a few extra hours of gameplay.
