Technical demo of the unreleased Dreamcast game titled “The Simpsons: Bug Squad!” Found in the old development kit.
The game was developed by Red Lemon Studios, which has been closed for a long time. After the user sreak on the Dreamcast-Talk forum found this demo on the hard drive of the Dreamcast development kit, it has been shared on Youtube’s DreamcasticChannel (thanks to Dreamcast Junkyard).
As far as we know, this game seems to have been forgotten by people so far, you can understand why. Are you still a bug while playing the Simpsons game? Of course, this is a strange concept, but it will make the game perfect.
The game file actually contains a playable version of the title. Gameplay projects you as a bug, living in the Evergreen Terrance family for no apparent reason. The history of the game files dates back to 2000, and it looks like it was created to show off the “Toon Render” engine.
Other than that, there is not much information about the title. However, we can see that the cel shadow graphic in the title is indeed effective with the style seen in the “Simpsons” TV series. The “Toon Render” engine really helps to sign the game graphics.
Perhaps this title was inspired by Bart’s unfortunate experience of using the stealth teleporter in “Fly vs Fly”, which is the short film “Treehouse of Horror VIII” in season 9 of the show. Predecessor. We may never be sure.
Files for the first-person shooter Take the Bullet Beta, also developed by Red Lemon Studios, were also found on the hard drive.
If you are still eager to get more Simpsons video game content in 2020, you will be lucky: “Simpsons: Hit and Run” has been remade in Dreams, and someone has also made a playable version of Lee Carvallo’s Putting Challenge .
