What Riot Games tackles becomes gold: after League of Legends, for example, the shooter Valorant has also succeeded. In the future, however, he will have to do without his previous game director.
On the official website of developer Riot Games it has now been confirmed that Valorant is losing its game director. So far, Joe Ziegler has filled this position and was responsible for the development and live support of the successful tactical shooter from Riot Games. In the future, however, the popular title of the LoL makers will be placed in other hands.
Ziegler announced his departure from the Valorant team at Riot Games after spending the last eight years there since development began. In his statement, he emphasizes the excellent collaboration with a “passionate development team” who have worked tirelessly on the title with respect and dedication for the community. Now it is time to hand over his duties as Game Director of the game to his “good friend” Andy Ho.
Ho is not a blank slate at Riot Games, having already held the position of Senior Director of Game Direction at the studio. However, Ziegler continues to emphasize that he will not be far removed from the Valorant team in the future and – if necessary – will continue to provide support and advice.
Ziegler will, however, stay at Riot Games and start work on a new project there. What it is actually about is still a secret for the moment. If you look at the success stories of League of Legends, Valorant, Teamfight Tactics & Co., it can be assumed that this project can achieve great things again for Riot Games.
