With Act II in Episode 9, Valorant will get a new agent next week: Vyse.
Riot Games has confirmed that the new agent named Vyse will be part of the online shooter Valorant starting next week. With Episode 9 Act II, Vyse will be playable in the title from August 28, 2024.
Vyse is a metal-manipulating guardian who can isolate, hold, and disarm the opposing team using liquid metal. For example, Vyse’s “Arc Rose” ability lets her temporarily block her opponents’ vision.
The “Scissors” ability lets her use filaments of liquid metal to set up traps that, when triggered, create impenetrable walls for a short time. “Razor Vine” lets her place a nest of liquid metal that slows enemies and also damages them on contact. Finally, her ultimate ability is called “Steel Garden” and shoots metallic spikes, which Vyse uses to jam the opposing team’s primary weapons.
Officially, game designer Kevin Meier said of the new hero: “Vyse should be a Guardian who has a solution for duelists that is not primarily based on stalling. Someone who can punish aggressive players who rush forward recklessly. Vyse is very flexible in terms of setups, but she lacks the information tools that current meta Guardians have. We expect her to be very good at holding positions, even against multiple opponents. Her blind is more effective when placed beforehand, so players have to decide how to hold an area at the start of the round. Vyse players should be willing to get their hands dirty, because she will be most effective when she uses her blind.”
