Swedish game developer Stunlock Studios announced V riseIts open-world vampire survival game has sold over 500,000 copies since its Steam Early Access release.
The feat was accomplished in three days as the game went live on May 17.
At press time, 112,906 people are currently playing V Rising on Steam, which is the highest number to date. We look forward to more people joining the vampire fun this weekend.
The game has servers for up to 50 players where you will build yourself a magnificent castle on the continent of Valdoran. But first, after centuries of slumber, you’ll start to be a weak vampire. You will need to hunt to regain your stamina while also avoiding the sun.
Once strong enough, you’ll start rebuilding your castle, turning humans into loyal servants, and building your vampire empire. You can form allies and enemies, fend off holy soldiers, and wage war in single player online or local.
There are other mysterious dangers to face as you traverse forests, open countryside, and caves in search of resources, encountering friends and foes along the way. You can pillage villages, raid bandits, fight bosses, and explore the realm of supernatural beasts.
The resources you find and the ancient technologies you find will give you access to dark powers. This is the knowledge you will use to build your castle, where you can store your loot and grow your army. Castles can be personalised and you can even make coffins for servants and friends. Be sure to strengthen your castle, though, to protect your treasure from vampire opponents.
V Rising is currently priced at $19.99/$19.99 on Steam.
