The Sims 4 already has one less thing to worry about, as its main and next big competitor just made a major decision that will disappoint people.
Of course, among the Sims 4 competitors we can highlight Life By You. However, Paradox doesn’t seem to be very confident about releasing its game in Early Access on the planned date. Perhaps due to the recent problems with Cities Skylines 2. Because of this, the publisher/developer has just made an important decision. Best not to disappoint the community
A delay for Life bu You, Sims 4 competitor
Publisher Paradox Interactive and developer Paradox Tectonic have announced that the early access release of Life by You, originally scheduled for June 4th, has been postponed to an indefinite date. This is the third delay for this life simulation game, which will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. And that still seemed to have what it takes to keep up with The Sims 4.
Mattias Lilja, deputy general manager of Paradox Interactive, stated in a press release that this additional time was deemed necessary for the game’s development. “Although we would have preferred to commit to a new release window, we believe it is wiser to wait and plan rather than set a new date that we cannot guarantee” he explained.
Full message from Mattias Lilja
Lilja sent a message to fans to explain this decision:
Hello everyone,
After careful consideration, we regret to announce that we have decided to withdraw the Early Access release date for Life by You, originally scheduled for June 4th. This decision was not easy for us, especially because we understand the anticipation and enthusiasm many players have for the game. However, we believe additional development time is required.
While we would have preferred to commit to a new release window, we believe it is wiser to wait and plan rather than set a new date that we cannot guarantee will be met.
We will provide further information as soon as possible and in the meantime we would like to thank you for your continued support and patience.
Mattias Lilja, deputy managing director of Paradox Interactive
The goal is obviously to prevent a new catastrophe after Cities Skylines 2. It wouldn’t be good form to offer a game that is completely trashed in the comments during its first week of availability. What do you think of this delay?
