I’ll start in the late 1990s thanks to Fallout 4: Project Arroyo, a project that has been in progress since 2019. GECK is bound to be interrupted by some pretty nasty guys in power armor, and you may be able to recognize or hazard a guess at many of the scenes shown off in this new trailer.
The most striking thing to me is that the trailer starts and ends in Arroyo’s Temple of Trials – where you go at the beginning of the game to pick up the vault suit worn by the original Fallout’s protagonist – and a glimpse of Rose A bed and breakfast in Modoc, the sanctuary’s inhabitants mind their own business. There’s also the fact that the player is engaging in an intense battle with a swarm of rats, which shows that the mod definitely detracts from the experience of the game, even though you’ll probably have more of a chance against these critters in real time than I usually did early on. Classic Fallout.
In the meantime, if you got into the series around the same time as I did, a fresh look at The Pitt’s version, developed by the team behind Fallout 4: Capital Wasteland (one of the teams we’ve spoken to before at C3), is sure to please It will benefit you a lot. Brings back some memories.

From first hearing about the place from Wernher, to crossing that iconic bridge into the DLC itself, there’s enough here to take you back to collecting steel ingots and fighting cavemen, even if it seems like we’ll have to wait A longer tour of the interior of the mill and the haven realm of Lord Ashur.
So, hopefully this will get you back into some old-school Fallout in your free time this week.
