war frame The next expansion, due in April, is called The Duviri Paradox and promises to be “a roguelike-inspired and emotion-driven open-world experience”.
Earlier this week, developer Digital Extremes showed off a brief cinematic trailer, giving us our first glimpse at the upcoming Duviri Paradox expansion pack. In the ensuing adventures, the Drifter ends up “in a world of great discoloration and reality shattering,” the titular Duviri. In terms of story, players should “be ready to experience a wondrous world of emotion, where the visual and gameplay experience shifts and shifts from day to day as the moods of Dominus Thrax, ruler of the Child King Intertwined, anger, joy, jealousy and sadness.”
Each of the emotions described will be visually different in the environment and in combat, and enemies of Duvery’s citizens will behave differently depending on the stated emotion.
This expansion will introduce the game’s fourth open world, where players will choose from three game modes to begin their journey. The first game mode, The Circuit, is a br and new Warframe Only endless game mode, the second is The Duviri Experience, a full open world adventure, and the final mode of The Lonely Tales, a standalone narrative experience.
Below the Duviri player’s floating island, an area called The Undercroft will be found where Dominus Thrax cannot fully control the Void. Custom Warframe Arenas where edicts are also important can be found here, and players will have a range of known enemies and Warframes. Players who successfully pass the level will be brought back to Duvery to restore some color to the world.
Citrine’s Last Wish update was released in Warframe a few weeks ago, adding new weapons, cosmetics, and some quality of life changes.
Duviri Paradox doesn’t currently have a specific release date, but when it launches in April, it will be available on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
