Digital extremes, which, like Splash Damage, belong to Leyou Technologies from Hong Kong, can currently rub their hands happily (of course, wash beforehand). With numbers such as 57.5 million registered players at the end of 2019 not without reason, even if sales have declined somewhat. The latter is probably due to the fact that numerous Battle Royale titles turned out to be tough competition.
However, the parent company Leyou is not disturbed by this, but continues to focus on a bright future. Accordingly, developer Digital Extremes is already planning to extend Warframe to the new PS5 and Xbox One X consoles as well as other platforms not mentioned.
Other plans include further updates as part of the current The New War event and content updates on Empyrean. The integration of another open world is also an issue for 2020. In addition, the game is also to be made more accessible for beginners, despite improvements, still a problem with the sometimes very complex and extensive features. Further plans are expected to be announced in July at TennoCon, the Warframe community event.
