Maurice Weber is considered by connoisseurs to be a friend of crisp theses, which he recently proved once again. “Hot take,” he postulated rising twitch star on Twitter: »One of the reasons why Elden Ring is so absurdly successful is that we all needed a game to fall in love with. Everyone from the Settlers fan to the Battlefield pro is stumbling through and getting beat up by the Tree Warden just to feel something again.«

You could read criticism between the lines: If there had been other blockbusters, wouldn’t Elden Ring have been so successful? Over 12 million sales out of hopelessness?
