Here’s good news for fans of subversive humor, a new South Park game is in development by Austrians at THQ Nordic.
During the THQ Nordic conference, which was an opportunity to showcase some of the publisher’s development projects, we were able to learn that there are 43 games in development, 26 of which were unannounced. However, during the conference the number 26 was crossed out and we could hear the character of Randy Marsh (Stan’s father in South Park) shouting “hot hot hot” and a sound of “enjoyment”.
South Park under development
This is where the South Park Digital Studios logo appeared on the screen. No more doubt, a new game is therefore in development. After going back and forth between Acclaim, Microsoft and Ubisoft, THQ Nordic now owns the rights. And of course we hope that this time the classic French version is present in the game, as opposed to The Annale of Destiny.
Also note that this last game of 2017 was originally going to be released by THQ before the company went bankrupt and the project was taken over by Ubisoft. Apparently Trey Parker and Matt Stone have been working on this new South Park game for a year already, because in 2021 we learned about a report by Bloomberg
What do you expect from a new SP game? Do you think publisher THQ Nordic will take better care of the license?
