In 2022 there will finally be a supply for fans of the global strategy game Crusader Kings 3 give. Originally the Royal Court
-DLC will be released this year, but the developers have decided to move the new content in favor of a higher quality.
After all, there is regular fresh information for the waiting fans in the form of various developer diaries that revolve around the new features. The latest edition deals with the artifacts already known from the second part of the series and the new inventory. Combined, it blows one strong breeze roleplaying game over the world map.
Our role-playing and medieval expert Fabiano discusses in his column why you should accept the longer waiting time when Crusader Kings 3 is close to your heart:
Postponed DLC
Opinion: The only correct signal!
This is how the inventory works
The important message at the beginning: Even if you shouldn’t buy the DLC, you still benefit from the artifacts and thus have access to the inventory. The difference: only Royal Court buyers can use and exhibit artifacts at the eponymous royal court. But everyone can equip normal characters with the new bonus donors.
This is where the new inventory comes in. The visual appearance is the same as you know it from role-playing games: You can place the artifacts in different slots, depending on the type of object. In the right part of the window you can easily switch between the individual categories.
The artefacts that can be equipped are divided into the following categories: crowns, insignia, weapons, armor and trinkets. Behind the latter is all sorts of, well, small stuff. A tool symbol next to each entry offers the possibility to repair the artifact. Because all copies that you give your characters on the way wear out over time.
Another window that is presented in the developer diary is the detail view. There you can find out more about the history of the artifact, including details of who claims this unique item. If you are unlucky, the precious piece can be stolen from you.
But of course you can also turn the tables: If your stupid cousin inherits a valuable ring that you absolutely want to have, you don’t have to strangle the relatives in the middle of the forest like some other contemporaries, but you can still win it for yourself: In a duel , in war or by theft.
Manufactured or inspired, what can it be?
You can not only repair artifacts, but also improve them or create them yourself. If you are in the mood for a brand new copy, simply give one up. The advantage: You can choose exactly what kind of artifact should come out in the end.
Alternatively, you can get artifacts from personalities who have the power of inspiration feature. But it can take many months to do this, and you have no idea what you will eventually get. You might ask yourself why the hell you should choose this path at all.
The answer: While the craftsmen you hire always only do the bare minimum and cobble together poor artifacts, the inspired people create significantly higher-quality creations.
