Ah, France. Its cheese, its bread, its haute couture, its Eiffel Tower… and its spirits! As for the drinks, we can say that France has a layer of it as the wine culture is well known all over the world, not to mention certain brands of spirits. And if we’re telling you all this, it’s because French cognac brand Louis XIII is running a pretty crazy film project.
One of its flagship products is therefore a cognac aged no less than… a hundred years. Only that. And the company ordered them to take part a short film about this extraordinary alcohol: baptized “100 years”, we will not be able to see it for a century.
Century ass drinking
contacted in 2015, so it’s director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Planet Terror, Alita Battle Angel, One Night In Hell) who should control this “100 years” short film. As a figurehead we’re going to find one John Malkovitch, a true cinema legend, and Shuya Chang. Together they came up with a story around this bottle with an aura that articulates around three versions of the future that we can discover in the year 2115.
