With the Dragon Ball Daima anime on air, and with a very good reception in terms of audience, the adventures of the super saiyans continue through the manga. Well, a little bit. Toyotaro picks up Akira Toriyama's legacy more or less where he left it, although in a particularly specific way through un One-Shot which will be published in the fourth issue of V-JUMP in 2025. What does that mean?
To begin with, the One-Shot format applied to manga refers to the format of self-contained stories. In other words, Toriyama's disciple will not continue the monthly serialization and in the role of Dragon Ball Super, but will tell a new story that will be published on February 20, 2025 and will be focused (as shown) on the intrepid Saiyaman X-1 y Saiyaman X-2. Well, to be fair, on Trunks and Goten respectively.
The announcement took place during the panel dedicated to the new Dragon Ball Super Divers collectible card project, video games and news, during the JUMP Fiesta event. A panel that you can see below, with the announcement given starting at minute 29 and with no more clues than its date and the three main characters: Saiyaman X-1, Saiyaman X-2 and himself Clean God, the fashionable superhero that obsesses teenagers of the Dragon World.
From here it's time to point out: both Clean God and the superhero life of Goten and Trunks are part of Akira Toriyama's direct legacy. Approximately two years ago, an arc starring these characters began in the manga that served as a prelude to the paper version of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero drawn by Toyotaro. Recovering in many aspects both the obsessions of the classic mangas of Goku and Arale's father and the spirit of the beginnings of the Majin Bu saga in Dragon Ball.
At the moment it is unknown the extent of this One Shot or if the events will take place after the last chapter of the manga. Dragon Ball Super or in an intermediate period of time during the Superhero saga. What we know is that there is an official margin of one year between the original ending of the play and the last events shown. However, it is worth remembering that due to its self-contained nature it will be a one-time story.
Will the serialization of Dragon Ball Super be resumed? Toyotaro is considered prepared to continue the adventures of Goku, Gohan and the rest of the characters, and the truth is that this One-Shot will be a very interesting way to see what he can offer fans without the supervision of Toriyama. In any case, the conclusion we reach is the same: we will have Dragon Ball for a long time. And that's good.
