On April 30, 2020, the upcoming Assassin's Creed Valhalla got its first cinematic trailer. It was already clear beforehand: Viking era, we ourselves will plunder and pillage arsonous medieval England – or just as a warrior!
Because as with the predecessor Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, we again have the free choice of whether we as female or male character want to play. While we could choose between Alexios and Kassandra in Odyssey, our character in AC Valhalla has only one name: Eivor.
So who is the hero? Assassin's Creed Valhalla's creative director, Ashraf Ismail, sums it up as follows:
"Assassin's Creed Valhalla is Eivor's journey. Players get their own voice within this framework. You can choose to play Eivor male or female."

What is the difference between hero and heroine?
The same name for both characters symbolizes the differences that await us with a male or female character in terms of story: No!
The characters experience the same story, do the same quests and beat up the same English if we want it as a player. Also exist in terms of heavy armor and weapons no visible differences
In Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, however, the story was slightly modified, depending on whether we played as Alexios or Kassandra. The two also each took their own place in the story, since both of them are part of the story as siblings. Yes, they even occurred in each other's stories!
That won't happen in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, as hero & heroine one and the same role play. There are no differences in terms of gameplay, so the choice of gender is purely cosmetic.
