There is apparently a problem with the WhatsApp messenger at the moment. We’ll tell you what we know about it so far.
Are you currently having problems sending WhatsApp messages? You are obviously not alone. In our Netzwelt WhatsApp error report, we have registered an increase in such problem reports since around 6 p.m.
Also on the Portal X (formerly Twitter) Numerous users are reporting problems under the hashtag #whatsappdown. The reports are not only from Germany, but also from other parts of the world. We are currently unable to reproduce the problems. We have no problem sending text messages between Android phones and iPhones. We can also send media and voice messages. However, on X you can read that many people are having problems with this in particular.
WhatsApp outages are rare. Compared to previous disruptions in the messenger, the number of reports is still low (as of 6:06 p.m.), which suggests that only a fraction of the approximately 3 billion WhatsApp users worldwide are affected by the problem.
We would recommend that you be patient, the problems may soon resolve themselves. As soon as there is new information, we will keep you informed and update the article.
