Someone sent you a message on WhatsApp and then deleted it. Now you’re curious what was in it? There’s a trick you can use to view deleted WhatsApp messages on Samsung phones. But you have to make a change in the settings BEFORE you receive the message, explains the User Tiem_zelf on Reddit.
Open the settings on your Galaxy phone, then select “Notifications” and then “Advanced Settings”. Then tap on “Notification History” and switch it on. In the future, you will be able to view all notifications received from your apps in the last 24 hours. The list also includes WhatsApp messages that were later deleted.
Notification history must be activated
However, there are limitations. For example, you cannot view very long messages in their entirety and deleted images and videos cannot be viewed retrospectively using this trick.
If you don’t have a Samsung phone, you can also add the feature to phones from other manufacturers. You can find the relevant apps on Google Play. However, keep in mind that these can read your notifications and your data could end up in the wrong hands.
