The search for the perfect MMO is not that easy. While in the single player area there is always one hit after the next and we no longer know where to find the time for all the games, things are completely different in the massive multiplayer online games.
Even if you like to focus on one game for a very long time with MMOs, the urge for something new and fresh away from World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy Online and Co. is great. But which MMO star in the sky are you keeping your eye on? That’s what we want to find out with the survey embedded above.
Feel free to write us in the comments why you chose this MMO.
If the titles above mean nothing to you, you will find a brief summary of the respective games in the following sections.

Ashes of Creation: The MMO with the great UE5 graphics reveals atmospheric desert biome
The sandbox MMO Ashes of Creation wants to serve you a world that reacts to your actions. The whole thing should work via a complex economic system, castle sieges or dynamic quests. Depending on who currently owns the individual cities (called nodes), other NPCs, quests and secrets will be unlocked.
Also exciting: You don’t choose just one class as usual, but combine two of the eight different classes, resulting in a quite individual play style. how well it works so far we could already test it in the alpha

ArchAge 2: MMO successor presents itself in Unreal Engine 5
With the successor to the MMO of the same name from 2014, everything should be different and better. Starting with a look in Unreal Engine 5, to a sandbox game world that is twice as large, the developers want to turn everything inside out, remaining true to basic elements such as guild battles, ship battles, housing and trade.

Amazon has a new MMORPG – and it’s very different from New World
The theme park MMO wants to inspire you with its time travel story and fantasy setting with a slight SciFi touch. There is also an action-packed and dynamic combat system in which you rely on combos, dodge rolls and powerful attacks. Unlike other MMOs in this area, you don’t get your loot directly from felled enemies, but through crafting.
Corepunk

Corepunk: New MMO relies on iso perspective and crafting
MMOs with an isometric perspective have been back in vogue since Lost Ark at the latest. With dungeons, mounts and a focus on world exploration, Corepunk has everything a gaming heart desires. But the crafting system is exciting, in which you have to specialize in a profession, similar to the latest WoW addon Dragonflight, in order to become a talented craftsman.
Into the Echo

Into the Echo wants to entice you with time travel and a rather unconventional experience and progression system. Not everyone follows a prescribed path like the lemmings, but explores individual aspects of the game individually. It is not yet known what the whole thing will look like in practice.

Palia – Announcement trailer for the Stardew Valley themed MMO
Palia is a kind of cozy MMO. Instead of having to save the world from destruction once again, here you focus on a simple life full of happiness and joy. You prepare your house and garden, talk to the villagers and go fishing, mining or hunting. So imagine some kind of animal crossing MMO.
Pantheon Rise of the Fallen
- Developer: Visionary Realms
- Platform: PC
- Release: unknown
- Cost model: Unknown
link to YouTube content
With a high-fantasy setting, 9 different races and 14 classes, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is one of the more classic MMOs. The focus is clearly in the PvE area with 15 dungeons, which should already be available at the time of release.

Stalker meets MMO: Survival game Pioner shows first gameplay
If you don’t know much about fantasy, Pioner might be the right place for you. Because this is where the post (apocalypse) takes place. As a former special agent you fight against monsters and nature and try to somehow survive with a hopefully well-stocked arsenal of weapons.
Throne and Liberty
- Developer: NCSoft Korea
- Platform: PC, PS5, Xbox X
- Release: Q1 2023

The MMORPG Throne and Liberty shows off the new trailer with a chic look and lots of action
You may still know Throne and Liberty (or Project TL) under its former name Lineage Eternal, which was originally planned as a game from the iso perspective, but will now happen from the third person view. Throne and Liberty relies on an open game world, a choice of weapons instead of classes and castle sieges.
So much for the short introductions. Feel free to vote in the poll above and let us know why you’re looking forward to this MMO the most.
