In bittersweet news for fans of GTA and the GTA RPG servers, rapper and streamer T-Pain has confirmed his work on the upcoming GTA 6.

Due to his role in the game (whatever that is), the musician was also informed that he wasn’t allowed to participate in the GTA role-playing servers (thanks GamesRadar). These include the recently reopened prolific NoPixel server.

T-Pain, aka Faheem Rashad Najm, is best known for his R&B stardom throughout the 2000s, namely his performance on the iconic song “Low,” a song about fur-covered boots, but the artist has Start streaming in recent years. He has also previously worked on the GTA role-playing server NoPixel, where streamers and other content creators will play a variety of realistic yet larger-than-life characters in modded cities.

It’s all done through FiveM and RedM, where fans of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption players can host their own modded servers for the games and live out whatever life or scenario their community likes, and NoPixel is just one of many role-playing servers Example exists in GTA V.

Rockstar actually acquired the development teams behind FiveM and RedM back in August 2023, so it’s understandable that T-Pain expressed some confusion when he was asked to stop playing NoPixel RP after developing GTA 6.

“I used to work at NoPixel, and then I started working […] GTA 6, they told me I couldn’t do RP anymore,” the rapper explained. T-Pain’s contact reportedly said, “If someone takes your album, re-record it, then there will be more people What should I do if I’m listening? ” T-Pain said he understood why this happened, but he was having a lot of fun with NoPixel.

Much of his confusion seems to stem from Rockstar’s acquisition of the modders behind FiveM and RedM; “You all told me I couldn’t do this and then work with the people who made RP possible,” he concluded with a laugh.

While it’s sad that fans of GTA RP and its content won’t be seeing T-Pain strolling the streets of Los Santos, the good news is that T-Pain has revealed himself as a member of GTA 6, the first confirmed celebrity collaborator for the game . As for what he’ll be doing, we’re not sure yet; will he be a full-fledged character, or will he be the voice of a radio station in GTA 6? Only time (and a lot of it) will tell, but there’s no denying that T-Pain’s presence in the game is a welcome one.

The same cannot be said for the Florida Joker, however, who accused Rockstar of using his likeness without consent in the trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6.
