in the comic Green Lantern #9 (by Jeremy Adams and Xermanico), Hal finds Tom Kalmaku guarding an alternative central battery to Oa’s in a remote cave in Galicia. There, Hal receives a new ring made especially for humans. And it turns out that humans have an innate talent for wearing rings and getting the most out of it.
They chose humans… The Earth Lanterns… because they have an innate ability to follow orders. “An excess of will,” he said. This makes them better adapted to survive. There are enough for each of the 2814 members…
