After Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 will also receive its NextGen upgrade for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. But that has now been postponed indefinitely. New content for the PC is also delayed: Raytracing and DLCs based on the Netflix series The Witcher are now also longer in coming.
Of course, The Witcher 4 is even further away The Witcher: A New Saga begins
. Everything we know so far about the next role-playing game in the Witcher series about Geralt, Ciri and Co., we have summarized for you in the following overview:
All known information
The Witcher 4 officially announced
All information about the NextGen shift of The Witcher 3
Why the delay? CD Projekt Red announced about the official twitter channel announced that the originally planned release of The Witcher 3 for NextGen could not be met. Concrete reasons are not given, but it is obvious that there were probably problems with the development. Because the project is withdrawn from the Russian location of the Saber Interactive studio and CDPR is now taking over the development itself.

Is there a new release yet? No, the next-gen version of The Witcher 3 has been postponed indefinitely. This means that there is currently no specific release date for the role-playing game for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The upgrade was originally scheduled for the second quarter of 2022
How does this affect PC gamers? The version for the PC should also benefit from the next-gen version of The Witcher 3. Because hand in hand with the release for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S comes ray tracing for the home computer, while even new DLCs are planned. They are based on the Netflix series with Henry Cavill, but there are no details or even screenshots yet.
NextGen upgrade will be free: Those who already own The Witcher 3 on PS4 and Xbox One should be able to upgrade to the version for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at no additional cost. This should also allow players to get ray tracing for the PC and the new DLCs at no additional cost. Of course, be patient for an official confirmation first.
