Anyone who is looking out for the GameStar test for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1 in the next few days will be disappointed: In all likelihood, we will be able to get you on time for the release no purchase advice
The Last of Us: Why no PC test for the release?
We would like to offer you a test when The Last of Us is released on March 28, 2023 on Steam and the Epic Games Store. But we just can’t. Because publisher Sony has us until now (as of March 25th) despite repeated requests no PC trials made available.
One can only speculate about the reasons. We also don’t know whether other media and editorial departments can test the PC version in advance, unlike us. In any case, the lack of pre-codes has of course Impact on our testing procedure.
To keep you up to date with everything the PC version has to offer content and features bring it with you, take a look at the trailer:

The Last of Us Part 1 for PC: The new features in quick succession
When is The Last of Us Part 1 GameStar review coming?
How do we deal with the situation? Well, we will of course be keeping a close eye on the PC launch of The Last of Us next Tuesday and, as always, we will keep you up to date the first steam reviews as well as any technical problems that may pop up in the PC version.
At the same time, tester André Baumgartner will throw himself into the game from the activation date of the Steam version (probably 7:00 p.m.) and together with a hardware expert from GameStar Tech to test the game.
Since we know the quality of the content of the action-adventure very well (the original was released for PlayStation in 2013, the remake called Part 1 last year), we will fully focus on the test PC specifics such as graphics, performance and controls focus.
When exactly our initial assessment of the porting will appear cannot yet be estimated. However, we hope to be able to draw a first conclusion on Wednesday or Thursday. We will then gradually update this test article with further findings, screenshots, videos and finally the final rating. Sounds good? Good.
Tell us what you think: Are you excited for the PC release of The Last of Us? Or have you already played it on the PlayStation?
