Nobody can seriously doubt that the RTX 4090 is a massive performance monster. In the test, my colleague Alex was impressed by the power of the graphics card. According to the results of the review, the crown deserves to go to Nvidia.
But the duel between the two graphics card rivals AMD and Nvidia hasn’t really started yet. Because AMD’s new Radeon RX 7000 cards are still a long way off.
We have already received confirmation of a performance date of November 3rd. A well-known leaker now wants to know the rough release window for the first new AMD cards.
According to him, the two cards should appear in the second half of December and thus within a hair’s breadth of this year. All in all, AMD should start with two different flagship models to declare war on Nvidia in the high-end segment.
Tough competition for AMD
The leaker is the well-known one on the Chinese platform Bilibili Enthusiastic Citizen. He had previously made correct predictions about graphics cards and processors from AMD, Intel and Nvidia – recently, for example, about the release date of Intel’s new Raptor Lake CPUs next week.
According to him, it should still take around one and a half months after AMD has presented the new cards until the first models are on store shelves.
As he mentions, AMD will also target the flagship range first and fish in the higher price segment. However, it should be difficult to compete with the RTX 4000 cards that have already been released. Unfortunately, Enthusiastic Citizen will not be more precise at this point.
However, he hopes that the lack of top performance will also be reflected in the price and that AMD graphics cards will become more affordable than those from the competitor Nvidia.

Radeon RX 7000: Does AMD shine elsewhere?
At least in terms of consumption and the size of the graphics cards, AMD has already made it clear that they want to be more economical than Nvidia.
And the price is still one of the big adjustment screws that AMD could use to position itself as the winner in the GPU competition. Possibly also because AMD’s cards could not be as plagued by scalpers at launch as the Nvidia RTX 4090.
However, we shouldn’t expect miracles that make for particularly cheap AMD cards, even with Team Rot.
