In July of this year we reported on the possible postponement of the RTX 4080 and its weaker sister models. Youtubers and leakers Moores Law Is Dead
(MLID) stated at the time that Nvidia’s warehouse was overflowing with RTX 3000 cards and that they had to be sold first.
That should be the reason why only the RTX 4090 (Ti) and three new entry-level models of the 3000 series are coming to market this year. You can read about the freshly launched RTX 3000 variants here:
October release
4 new Nvidia GPUs appear – only one belongs to RTX 4000
The Twitter user Greymon55, also known for leaks, also gave at the time per Tweet
He had already admitted that the release plans could still change to the opposite direction to his information at the time, which was said to come from internal sources at Nvidia and Nvidia partners. In the current tweet, too, he keeps this door open, as he spoke in relation to the alleged RTX 4000 release plans current
begins (in Europe: currently

According to his current information, the RTX 4090 should appear by mid-October 2022 at the latest, followed by both the RTX 4080 and the RTX 4070 (Ti) by mid-November 2022 at the latest. The time until then is only very manageable at around four or eight weeks.
Is Nvidia worried about AMD?
Nvidia may row back with the release plans for 2022 and 2023 in order to have an answer ready for AMD. AMD doesn’t have a (too) large overstock of RX-6000 cards by most accounts, so they may have more than just their flagship RX-7000 lineup planned for 2022. It is also conceivable that there were never any other plans.
While the release of the RTX 4090 until mid-October is becoming more and more apparent, the identical release periods for the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 are at least a bit suspicious. In the case of the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 as well as the RTX 2080 and RTX 2070, there was about a month between their release.
Hopefully we will find out if there is anything to this leak on September 20th at the Nvidia GTC 2022 keynote. CEO Jensen Huang steps back in front of the camera and we are surprised what he pulls out of his oven this time. You can already find out how the most recent shop listings of the RTX 4090 including (very high) prices are to be classified in this article:
Geforce RTX 4090: Why the extreme prices of the first shop listings are no cause for concern
What do you think which Geforce RTX 4000 models will be released this year? Is Nvidia actually only launching a top model at first, as was previously assumed? Or will there be several Ada Lovelace models in 2022? Feel free to write it in the comments!
